Why it matters

One bad freeze can total a misting system.

Central Texas winters are deceptive. We can have a 75°F afternoon followed by an overnight freeze 48 hours later. Misting systems left pressurized through a freeze are the most common cold-weather damage claim we see — and it's the one that's almost entirely preventable.

Our winterization service shuts the system down completely: water supply off, pressure bled, lines drained, and (where helpful) lines blown out with compressed air to eliminate any standing water. We also check pump oil and add freeze protection to any exposed components.

What's included

  • Full system pressure bleed
  • Drain valve operation and line drainage
  • Compressed-air blow-out of mainline runs
  • Pump oil check (and change, if needed)
  • Freeze protection for outdoor pump assemblies
  • Written inspection report

Bundle with spring startup

Most customers add a spring startup visit at the same time. We come out in March or April, pressure-test the system, swap filters, and replace any nozzles that need attention — so your first hot afternoon is a cool one.

FAQ

Winterization questions

When should I winterize my misting system in Central Texas?

Most years, you should winterize after the last reliable warm spell — typically mid-November to early December. If a hard freeze is forecast and you haven't winterized yet, do it that day.

What happens if my system freezes?

Water expands when it freezes, which can crack pump heads, split lines, and rupture fittings. A single freeze on an un-winterized system frequently causes thousands of dollars of damage.

Can I winterize my system myself?

Yes — shut off the water, bleed pressure, drain the lines, and protect the pump. See our detailed winterization guide. That said, many customers prefer to schedule a professional shutdown for peace of mind.

Do you offer winterization service plans?

Yes. We offer fall shutdown + spring startup packages for residential and commercial accounts. Sign up once and we'll handle both visits automatically each year.
